Director Needed for New Teen Comedy Drama Pilot Episode

I am looking for someone to direct a pilot episode for a new teen comedy drama which would be suitable for CBBC or CITV.

This brand new 20 minute pilot tells the story of awkward 15 year old Masie’s life. Masie’s life gets  turned upside down as over the summer holidays her parents decide to break up and her dad moves out leaving her and her boisterous 8 year brother, Tom at home with their mum, Laura. Now shes going into year 10 with her BFF’s Cassie and Gemma, and she has a whole new set of dramas to deal with. It’s their back to school disco at the end of the week and Maisie hasn’t got a date. It’s alright for Cas, who has boys falling at her feet begging to take her to the disco and Gemma with her long term boyfriend, but Masie just has to find one. Luckily she has her boy best friend Rob to walk home with and tell him all about her problems. She can’t see how much Rob would love to take her to the disco and spys new sixth form hottie, Jack. The 3 girls obsess over Jack at school and one day they go to Cass’s to plan their outfits, when Jack walks in with Cass’s older brother Joe! Meanwhile whilst his is all going on Mums stared to date again, and Maisie can’t work out why her hot new history teacher is being so nice to her…

The director would be in control everything and would be required to create a shot list and direct cameras accordingly. The camera set up would be entirely up to the director to decide depending on what they think works best. Cameras and tripods will be provided and the director will have a choice to either work with Sony XD cams or Cannon 7Ds or a mixture of the 2. You would be working closely with both me ( the producer) and Maddie ( the writer). As you would be in complete control you would have the opportunity to put your signature on the episode my using your unique directing skills which would make this a very exciting opportunity  for someone passionate about directing.

We would like someone who is enthusiastic about the project, has director experience on their own projects and also has the skills to be able to capture the light heart, young, fun feel of the episode.

We would be aiming to film mid to end of October but would need to be in touch with a director at least a month before this to plan what will happen on the shoot days. The project would be based in Kent.

This is going to be a really fun project to work on but we need the help of someone with the right skills to help us achieve our vision.

Please comment below if you are interested or email me at hennieclough@hotmail.co.uk

When applying please let me know if there is anyone you have worked with before who you think would also be good to have on board for this project whether they are in sound, lighting, camera or editing.
