Sound Recordist Needed for WW2 Short Film

I am looking for someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to sound to help record and advice on shoot days for a WW2 short film.

The story follows the exchange of letters between two sweethearts torn apart by war. One day when the letters stop coming, Mary begins to panic about what has happened to her lover Arthur. She confides in her best friend Alice who is very matter of fact when it comes to war, having lost her brother due to the war recently. Alice tells Mary that is more than likely that Arthur has been killed at that she should move on. After grieving for a while Mary begins a new romance with a local boy called Frank. Their romance blossoms but one day Arthur returns unexpectantly and Mary is forced to choose which man she wants to be with.

On previous projects sound has always been our downfall and as this is our last project at uni we want it to
be perfect.

We are looking for someone who is able to attend every shoot day to record the dialogue as well as capturing background noises to make the scene sound realistic and also to advice the director on sound issues. As this is a WW2 piece you will need to advice the director on any noises you can hear which would not be present in WW2 eg, cars, washing machines, etc.

You will need to have previous experience and be passionate about sound.

This will be a really interesting project to work with and will give you freedom to be creative with sounds with room for foley if you think it is necessary.

We would be looking to film for 2-3 days at the end of September/ beginning of  October and so you must be available then. The project would be based in Kent.

Please comment below or email me at hennieclough@hotmail.co.uk if you are interested in this role. When applying for this role please let us know if you have any equipment you think would be beneficial to this project.
